  • Rinse the Poha in water by gently swifting them with your fingers till they get soften. (Do not soak the poha in water, only rinse it and Keep it aside in a strainer)
  • Now add 1 tsp salt and ½ tsp turmeric powder (haldi) in washed poha and mix it gently.
  • Heat oil in the pan and fry potato sticks. It is kind of french fries and keep aside.
  • Now in same pan, add 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai). When mustard seeds start crackling, add curry leaves and 1 tsp sugar. (Really it gives a very good taste in poha so don’t skip this step)
  • Now add chopped onions and sauté them for few minutes.

  • Cover and steam for 1 or 2 minutes on low flame and then turn off the gas and remain covered for a few minutes.
  • Remove the lid and serve poha with your French fries on top.

1- Do not soak poha in water. Just you need to rinse the poha and keep aside in a strainer.
2- You can add roasted peanuts and cooked peas.
3- As my all recipes are zero spicy I have not added chili in this. You can add chopped green chilies while adding curry leaves.
4- Do not skip the sugar, as it will not give you sweet flavor but it will enhance the flavor of curry leaves.
